Fishing prohibition periods and areas for 2025

Order No. 23/297/2025 was published on the establishment of fishing prohibition periods and areas, as well as areas for the protection and biological restoration of living aquatic resources in natural aquatic habitats.

Art. 1. - (1) Prohibition measures are hereby established for commercial, recreational and family fishing of any species of fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other living aquatic creatures in natural fish habitats, for a period of 60 days, from April 9 to June 7 inclusive, and in waters constituting the state border, for a period of 45 days, from April 24 to June 7 inclusive, with the exceptions provided for in this order.

(2) Commercial, recreational and family fishing of any species of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and other living aquatic organisms is prohibited in the Razim-Sinoe Complex and coastal lakes for a period of 60 days, from April 9 to June 7 inclusive.

(3) Commercial, recreational and family fishing of any species of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and other living aquatic organisms is prohibited in the waters constituting the state border with Ukraine, including the Musura Bay, for a period of 45 days, from April 16 to May 30 inclusive.

Art. 2. - For reservoirs intended for the production of electricity, during periods of prohibition, the controlled lowering of the water level is prohibited, in order to ensure the protection of spawning areas, except for considerations of preventing natural disasters.
